Recycling
The borough does not offer curbside recycling. However, recycling receptacles are located at Boyer's Food Market located at South Wayne and South Warren Streets. It is important to place only the designated material in each receptacle.
Please place your items IN the containers provided at each site. Leaving your items on the ground is illegal dumping. Violators will be prosecuted.
The following items may be recycled:
- Telephone Books
- Newspapers
- Magazines, office paper, unwanted mail
- Corrugated Cardboard - cardboard with ribbed layer between 2 layers of heavy cardboard (no wax coated or food contaminated boxes.)
- Metal Cans - Steel and bimetal food and beverage containers. Empty and rinse. NO aerosol cans, pesticide or herbicide spray cans, scrap metal, foil or food residue.
- Glass Bottles & Jars - clear, brown and green glass food and beverage containers. Empty and rinse. Remove and dispose of lids and rings. NO ceramics, light bulbs, mirrors, crystal, dishes, TV tubes, window and auto glass or cookware.
- Plastic Bottles - plastic bottles with a narrow neck and #1 or #2 in the recycling symbol on the bottom. Empty and rinse. Remove metal and plastic rings and lids. Crush or flatten.
- Aluminum - There is a separate fenced area for recycling aluminum cans sponsored by Boy Scout Troop #624. All proceeds from the aluminum cans go to Troop #624.
